Getting Started

How to sign up as a Vendor
  1. Go to the “Open a Shop” page on Designs & People.
  2. Click the “Start Selling Now” button OR click the “My account” tab.
  3. Fill out the registration form:
  • Select: “Open a Shop”
  • Email
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Shop Name
  • Shop URL (fills out automatically, when you enter a Shop Name)
  • Address
  • Company info (if applicable)
  • Bank info (for payouts. You can leave this blank and fill out at a later point or use Paypal, once you are signed into your account)
  • Select as Subscription Pack

Click Submit to create your account.

    Choosing a vendor plan
    • Basic (Free, 15% commission, 30 listings/month)
    • Standard ($15/month, 10% commission, 50 listings/month)
    • Premium ($30/month, 8% commission, unlimited listings)
    Setting up your store
    • Go to the Vendor Dashboard
    • Click β€œSettings” > β€œStore”
    • Upload your store banner and logo/profile picture
    • Add a store description (who you are, what you sell)
    • Click Save Changes
    • Under “Settings” > “Payment” setup payment methods (bank transfer or Paypal) for payouts.
    Adding your first product

    Step 1: Add a New Product

    1. Add tags & categories (e.g., β€œClipart,” β€œCoquette,” β€œPOD”)
    2. Go to Dashboard > Click β€œProducts” > Click β€œAdd New”
    3. Enter the Product Title (Keep it descriptive for SEO! Example: “Coquette Floral Clipart PNG – Commercial Use”)
    4. Upload your product images
    5. Write a detailed product description

    Step 2: Set Pricing & License

    1. Scroll to “Product Data”
    2. Select “Variable Product”
    3. Click “Attributes” > Add:
      • Standard License (Default Price)
      • Extended License (Higher Price)
    4. Go to Variations:
      • Set individual prices for Standard vs. Extended
      • Upload corresponding download files
      • Enable “Downloadable” & “Virtual” options

    Step 3: Publish the Product

    1. Click “Save Draft” to preview
    2. Click “Publish” when ready

    Tips for success

    βœ… Use SEO-friendly product titles & descriptions

    βœ… Fill out all relevant attributes, categories, and tags
    βœ… Offer high-quality images (transparent PNGs, AI files, SVGs, etc.)
    βœ… Price competitively (compare with Creative Market & Etsy)
    βœ… Promote your shop on Instagram & Pinterest for extra sales
    βœ… Regularly upload new designs to keep your shop active

    Managing your Shop

    Managing Orders

    Step 1: View and Process Orders

    1. Click an order to see order details.
    2. Go to Dashboard > Click β€œOrders”
    3. You’ll see a list of orders with statuses:
    4. Processing: Payment received, waiting for fulfillment
    5. Completed: Customer has access to download
    6. Refunded: A refund was issued

    Step 2: Order Actions

    • To mark as complete:
      • Open the order > Click “Mark as Completed”
    • To issue a refund:
      • Open the order > Click “Refund Order”
      • Enter amount and select refund reason

    πŸš€ For digital downloads, orders will automatically be completed unless an issue arises.

    Managing Products

    Step 1: Editing & Updating Listings

    1. Go to Dashboard > Click β€œProducts”
    2. Find the product you want to edit
    3. Click “Edit”
    4. Make changes to:
      • Title / Description
      • Price / License options
      • Downloadable file
    5. Click Update

    Step 2: Deleting a Product

    1. Go to β€œProducts”
    2. Find the product
    3. Click “Delete”

    🚨 Deleted products cannot be recovered, so be careful! 🚨

    At Designs & People, we want you to be able to scale your business following your success, therefor we have created a tiered subscription guide. You can start for free and then pay a 12% commission fee, whenever you make a sale. You do not have to pay any transaction fees, listing fees etc.
